Texas Mayor to Detail Nat. Gas Devastation

Breakfast Talk in Elmira, Feb 20

People for a Healthy Environment, Inc. will host a breakfast talk Saturday, Feb. 20 in Elmira with Dish, Texas Mayor Calvin Tillman, an advocate for tighter controls on the Natural Gas industry. He is shown at left next to a sign installed by pipeline companies in his town.

Tillman's talk at The Park Church, 208 West Gray Street, will start at 9:30 am, preceded by a continental breakfast at 8:30. The talk is free of charge. Free-will donations will be accepted, according to organizers.

"After years of suffering extreme unpleasantness and illness downwind of compressor stations with no responsibility taken by industry nor state, the small town of Dish paid for an air quality study, which found high levels of carcinogens and neurotoxins in the air. The local Texas health department is now testing the urine and blood of Dish residents. Mayor Tillman is eager to tell the eye-opening story of Dish on his one week speaking tour of New York State," organizers said.

To learn more about the problems in Dish Texas, visit Mayor Calvin Tillman's blog. We encourage you to attend his talk.
